Lachung Weather In November
Welcome Winters With Your Family At Lachung In November
What would a better idea it be for you and your family to celebrate the festival of lights than to spend it at snowy Lachung? Diwali generally arrives in the early November, making it an ideal time to take a family vacation to spend quality time together. Novembers in Lachung is amazing as the winter season just settling in. The mountains are covered in snow, the lakes are crystallized to perfection and the skies are a shade of blue you would find only in movies.
The average temperature of Lachung in the month of November stays between -1 degrees Celsius to 16 degrees Celsius. This makes it a great time to visit the wonders of North-Sikkim. Lachung is a hill station, which means the climate is always pleasant at any given time. December and January are the only exceptions since it is frigidly cold during these two months. The month of November will involve snowfall, so be prepared with plenty of warm clothes.
You can visit Zero Point and enjoy the sight of snow everywhere your eyes can see. This definitely calls for a snowball fight. The river is still in a liquid state, so you will be able to see a few beautiful fish swimming their way into warmer waters.
You can also visit the Gurudongmar Lake, but it is advised that you carry first aid medicines. A lot of travellers complain of altitude sickness, hence taking a medicine before you embark on this journey would make sure you don’t miss the fun.
Yumthang Valley is another destination you can visit in November. It will give you a spectacular view of snow-covered mountains. The perennial trees provide new muse for the snow to frost them, you will be wonderstruck looking at the icicles patterned around them.
The roads to Rhododendron Sanctuary may be closed due to the snowfall, but you can contact your hotel desk and request them to check with the sanctuary. If you get to visit Rhododendron Sanctuary, you will be in awe of the vegetation found in North-Sikkim. There will be a few animals that won’t be hibernating around, ready to move out before the snow freezes over the forest lands.
Tourism apart, Lachung is popular for its woollen clothes. You can pick up a few nice sweaters, gloves and caps for your friends and relatives as gifts. Make sure to carry games and a guitar if you can play, your days and nights will be equally enjoyable.
Visiting Lachung in November is a great holiday idea when you are planning a quiet and private festival season for yourself and the family.
