How to Reach Paro From Assam

How to Reach Paro from Assam by Air
The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati offers both direct and connecting flights to Bhutan’s Paro International Airport. You can book flights operated by both the official air carriers of Bhutan: Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines, from Guwahati and give an end to your search of how to reach Paro from Assam by air. To note here, the connecting flights from Guwahati to Paro usually flies via Kathmandu in Nepal.
How to Reach Paro from Assam by Train
The Guwahati Railway Station has an excellent connectivity with the rest of the country. Visitors from almost all the corners of India can reach this train station via all types of trains. In case, you are currently away from Assam, but still wondering about how to reach Paro from Assam by train, you should book your train tickets from your destination to Assam. Once in Assam, you can embark on a road trip via multiple entry points to enter into the Bhutanese territory and finally make it to Paro.
Also, if you are already in Assam, and planning for a train ride to reach Paro, you can book your train tickets to Bongaigaon Railway Junction in the Bongaigaon town. From this town, you can make your entry to Bhutan through a designated entry point, and make your move towards Paro by undertaking a road journey.

How to Reach Paro from Assam by Road
If you are in Assam and planning for a road journey to reach Paro, you can choose from two different options: road trip from Guwahati or road trip from Bongaigaon.
To complete a road trip from Guwahati to Paro, you should first drive 150km (3 hours) from the city to reach Samdrup Jongkhar entry point to Bhutan. Form this point, you should again embark on a road trip vis NH-27, and drive another stretch of 459km (10 hours) to reach Paro Valley in Bhutan.
If you wish to take a road trip between Bongaigaon and Paro, you should first drive towards Gelephu in Bhutan, which is only 50km (1 hours’ drive) away from Bongaigaon town. On reaching Gelephu, you should start driving along the Wangdue-Tsirang Highway, and cover a distance of 250km (8 hours’ drive) to reach the scenic valley of Paro in Bhutan.
