Itinerary
The best way to arrive in Bhutan is via airways as you will fly to this kingdom of heaven witnessing the majestic land from the top. As you land at the international airport in Paro, our representative will greet you there with happiness and will further assist your transfer to the jaw-dropping allurement of Thimphu. Being the capital city of Bhutan, people usually find a perfect juxtaposition of ancient history, celebrated religion, and verdant beauty. It is approximately a 2-hours long drive from Paro to Thimphu but the spiral roads and the exciting view will keep entertained.
After stepping into this beautiful capital city situated at a height of 7,710 ft above the sea level, you will check in to the hotel where you can keep your luggage, relax, and refresh. Have a delectable meal and you will be all set to start your excursion. The first spot to visit is Kuensel Phodrand which is renowned among tourists for its gigantic Buddha statue and matchless natural allurement. Besides, the scenic beauty will let you soak into the fresh air of Bhutan. Next, you will pay your call at the marvellous National Memorial Chorten which was built in 1974 as a symbol of the world’s peace. Visitors are fascinated by the excellent Tibet style architecture and the calm ambience which is perfect for them to worship. By the evening, you will be visiting Tashichho Dzong that was constructed in 1216 A.D. by Lama Gyalwa Lhanangpa. Moreover, since 1952, it has been serving as the seat of the national government and the home and office of the present king.

Wake up early in the morning as the second day of your trip is going to be loaded with magnificent scenery and a lot of fun. Once you have your breakfast, be ready to set your luggage in the car and drive a long way to visit either Punakha or Wangdue that will take you about 3 hours to reach. On the way to your next destination, you definitely need to pay your visit at Dochu-La-Pass which is situated at an altitude of 3150 meters. To stop at this point is necessary because from here, you will find an astoundingly beautiful view of the snow-covered mountains of The Himalayas.
Once you arrive at your preferable destination, check-in at the hotel and freshen up as it is time to explore the wonderful valley. First, go to visit Punakha Dzong that is seen as the most beautiful and second Dzong built in the country. Primarily, it used to serve as the seat for the government until the mid-1950s when the rule of the second king ended. Moreover, the Dzong was originally named as Druk Pungthang Dechen Phodran that literally means ‘Palace of Great Happiness’ as all the kings of Bhutan were crowned here. The next stop of the day would be Chhimi Lhakhang which is nested amidst pleasant landscape and you need to trek into the spectacular beauty of the pastured hills to reach the temple. This temple holds great importance in local life as it is seen as the ‘temple of fertility’ where many couples pay their visit and worship to be blessed by a child.
As the sun comes down, you will be taken back to your hotel where you can unwind yourself throughout the night and think about the excitement you will experience the next day.
It is the third day of your trip to the most amazing country and you will have two choices to spend the day, on one side, you can visit Gangtey which is a picturesque valley and home to the exotic black-necked crane, whereas, on the other, you can visit more amusing places in Punakha valley. After having your delectable breakfast, make your choice and make the best out of your day.
If you wish to visit Gangtey, then you need to drive for about 3 hours to reach the most beautiful valley on the planet. This valley is so incomparably beautiful that you will be stunned to witness the true charm of the Mother Nature and this magnificent would not allow you to put your camera down for a single moment. Besides, the quietness and freshness of the area is the reason why it is home to many endangered species of birds including gorgeous black-necked crane. For more excitement, you can pay your visit to the Gangtey Gompa Monastery that is about 4 centuries old. Here you can soak into the tranquillizer environment and find the connection between mind and soul while meditating at the outlying meditation centres.
As the evening arrives, you can spend the night in the warmth of the hotel room at Punakha or Wangdue.
As an alternative, you can travel to the phenomenal locations in Punakha valley. In the morning, you can indulge yourself into a small hike to reach Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten that has been standing above the hill since ages. What’s more, the Chorten will provide you with a breathtaking view of the verdant valley that will leave you speechless. Furthermore, you can visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge that will give you an unforgettably thrilling experience. Known amongst oldest suspension bridges built across the world, this bridge is stretched at a distance of 160 meters. Hereafter, the final stop of the day would be Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery which is also a temple perched on a ridge overlooking the valley.

Paro is one of the most amazing places to visit around the world and today would be the time for you to stay at this magical valley amidst this mountainous country. Moreover, the must-do thing on the way would be to stop at Lamperi from where you can pay your visit to the splendid Royal Botanical Garden. This park is a treat for nature lovers as the 36 species of exotic rhododendron and approximately 220 types of charming birds will make your day unforgettable. After visiting this beautiful place, the first thing to do is to get to your hotel room where you can freshen up and get ready to continue your excursion.
The first stop in Paro would be Ta Dzong which is also known as the National Museum of Bhutan and is constructed in the shape of a conch shell and holds a range of traditional relics, religious artefacts, and historical art. Subsequently, you will visit the marvellous example of cultural architecture, Rinpung Dzong that has a peaceful aura and a picturesque view of the valley. Lastly, you will be taken back to your hotel in Paro at where you can rest throughout the night into the warm atmosphere of the room.
Today, it is going to be all about obtaining spiritualty as you will visit the most amazing monasteries of Paro. After having mouth-watering breakfast you will start your traverse from Taktsang Monastery, aka ‘Tiger’s Nest’, where you need to hike for about 2 hours to reach the holy place. The fabulous scenery on the way and the joyous destination is worth trekking in the mountainous region. Followed by Kyichu Monastery, you will pay your visit to one of the oldest and most beautiful monasteries of the country which was built in 659 in order to protect the Buddhist religion from a giant ogress.
As the night arrives, you will come back to the hotel and unwind yourself while spending the night in the cosy hotel room.
Wake up at an early hour in the morning because, today, you will witness the spectacular view of the Himalayan range from a great height. After a 2-hours of driving, you will leave for Chele-La-Pass which is a surreal point where people arrive by trekking, biking, or on cars to experience the freezing weather and snow-covered mountain peaks from an altitude of 3810 meters. Moreover, this is the highest motorable road in the country with a matchless landscape view where a number of people pay their calls just to capture indelible memories and quintessential travel photos.
As you are done soaking yourself into the stupendous scenery of the Himalayan range, you will be brought back to the hotel room to rejuvenate.
