Itinerary
On arrival at the railway station or Bagdogra airport, transfers to Gangtok will be arranged for. Embark on a scenic drive and enjoy the views of the massive mountains in the surroundings as the drive will take you to a height of 1437 meters above sea level. Upon reaching the hotel, check in and relax. The rest of the day will be at your will to explore.
MG Marg
We recommend you to take a stroll on the MG Marg in the evening as it is very popular among tourists for shopping. Pick up some books on Buddhism, alpine cheese, religious scroll paintings which are called Thankas, wall hangings, woodcarvings and much more.
If you do not wish to splurge, opt for a leisurely stroll instead and soak in the electrifying ambience amidst the scenic mountain valleys.

Tsomgo Lake
First, cover a 3-hour drive to the Tsomgo Lake that is located at a height of 12,400 feet. The beautiful Tsomgo Lake is approximately 1 km. long, 15 meters deep and oval in shape. This lake is considered sacred by the local people owing to the small temple built alongside the shore. The cool breezes here are perfectly attuned with the charming beauty around.
Baba Harbhajan Mandir
Then, soar further high at an altitude of 13,200 feet to reach the Baba Harbhajan Mandir. He was an army officer who is revered as the hero of Nathula. He died by drowning in a stream nearby and it is assumed that his spirit still guards the area. The National Anthem is played here in every 30 minutes and it is mandatory for every army official to pay homage to this place.

Start by first visiting the Tashi Viewpoint which offers its visitors some sweeping views of the gigantic Kanchenjunga mountain ranges.

Next, head to the Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok. As the name suggests, both these temples are dedicated to Lord Ganesh and Lord Hanuman respectively and you can also enjoy an all-encompassing hilltop view from here.
Bakthang Waterfalls and the Enchey Monastery
Then, head to the Bakthang Waterfalls and the Enchey Monastery. The waterfall is a natural cascade that runs down to form a pond and the monastery is home to more than 90 monks and is believed to be blessed by Druptob Karpo, a popular and well-respected tantric master.
Flower Show and Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom
Enjoy a flower show where you can behold the sights of some unique flora and fauna before visiting the last stop for the day- The Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom. The institution’s primary goal is to preserve and protect the culture, tradition and art of the localities in Gangtok.

On your list, the next stop is at the Durbin Dara Hill. It is one of the two mountains on which the town of Kalimpong stands. The two hills are connected by a ridge offering an all-round view of the town of Kalimpong along with the Teesta River and its valley.
Jang Dong Palriffo Brang Monastery and Pine View Cactus Nursery
Lastly, visit the Jang Dong Palriffo Brang Monastery and Pine View Cactus Nursery. The Gompa is a great place for conquering tranquillity and relaxation away from the worldly difficulties. While, the Pine View Cactus Nursery is known for its exotic collection of over 1500 species of cactus collected from around the globe for over 40 years.

Witness the sky as it changes colours from dark blue to a burning orange in just a couple of seconds.
Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop
On your way back down, make a quick stop to visit the Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. The Ghoom or Yiga Choeling Monastery is the biggest monastery in Ghoom and houses an idol of the Maitreya Buddha. It also preserves and protects the very rare handwritten Buddhist manuscripts. The Batasia Loop is the point where the trail of the train winds itself over a hilltop before disappearing through a tunnel. The view is gripping and will be imprinted in your mind forever.

Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Tenzing Rock
The zoo is home to an array of species and Himalayan animals and is closed on Thursdays. The Tenzing Rock is a site which is very popular for rock climbing.
Japanese Temple and the Peace Pagoda
Next, enjoy an outer view of the Chitrey Tea Garden, which is the home ground for Darjeeling’s aromatic tea as you make your way to the Japanese Temple and the Peace Pagoda.
