Itinerary
Kickstart your awesome honeymoon by arriving at the NJP or the IXB. Here you will meet our representative who will help you with your transfer from the railway station or the airport to your respective hotel in Gangtok. In this 4-5 hours drive, you will not only be accompanied by your better half but also the remarkable rhododendrons of Sikkim. These sites will be a treat to your eyes. What better start can be than clicking some fantastic pictures with your love while you are on the way to your home for a few days? As soon as you reach your hotel, relax for some time. After you are all refreshed and pumped up, go for an MG road stroll. Walk hand-in-hand in the streets of Gangtok and finally return to your room. Get a good night sleep as the following day would have some great adventures.
Today is the very first day of your siteseeing. Get up all fresh, have your breakfast and leave for Tsomgo Lake expedition at 8 in the morning. It will take around 2-3 hours for you to reach the 3750 m high located lake. Considered sacred by the locals, the lake is seen best during the summer season when every colour collides and form a beautiful scenery. When the winters come in the lake finds itself frozen, sparkling like a white beauty. The rugged terrains and high held mounatins with the lake at the forefront form an excellent location for some cute couple pictures. So, take out your camera and click some mindblowing snaps. Next up is the Baba Harbhajan Mandir which is a neighbour to the lake. Constructed as a memorial for the 22-year-old Sepoy Baba Harbhajan, the shrine has an essential place in the hearts of the locals and the soldiers that are posted at the nearby areas. It is said that the water kept here can cure illness and also that the soul of the young departed soldier warns the army men on duty about the upcoming dangers.
After you are done with these two locations, head back to your hotel by the evening. The remaining time is at leisure. You can roam the streets if you wish to or else can call it a day by having a sumptuous dinner.
There is also an Optional Nathu La Pass tour at extra charges which you can take post visiting the Baba Mandir. This Pass was the ancient silk route between India and China. It gives some extraordinarily beautiful views of the neighbouring Tibet and Giant mountain ranges.
Today you will be moving towards Pelling pst your breakfast. Pelling a small town situated far from the humdrum of the city life is a budding tourist attraction after Gangtok. The USP of the iconic site is the breathtaking views of the Khangchendzonga and neighbouring mountain ranges. While you are on your way, take a pit stop at Namchi Char Dham Temple and Samdruptse Statue. The temple is a shrine cum cultural spot is dedicated to the almighty Lord Shiva. Near to it is the Samdruptse Statue situated on the Samdruptse Hill which is also the “wish fulfiling hill.” There9 is a saying which confesses that the hill is a dormant volcano and hence regular prayers are offered to prevent it from erupting. The huge statue of Lord Shiva is the symbol of power and peace. This triumph of engineering took around seven years of building.
After the sightseeing continue with your drive to Pelling. Check in at the hotel as you reach here and spend the evening at leisure. Sit under the stars or walk around the hotel, talk your heart out with your beloved. Feel the warmth of your blissful love and spend a night here in Pelling at the hotel.
Get ready for a day full of fun and excitement. Post breakfast, start with the local tour. Today you will be exploring Pelling at its best. Begin with the Darap valley which confines of a small hamlet whose beauty stands unmatchable. The youth here is aware of the benefits that tourism can bring to their village; hence, you are going to meet some intellect minds at this place. Next up is the Rimbi Falls which are located close to the Darap valley. The picturesque waterfalls are considered to be one of the best tourist attractions in Pelling. The waters from the Rimbi make a recreational spot for the locals and the tourists where they come to swim and fish. Offering stunning views of the nearby areas, Sewaro Rock Garden is your third stop. The place has cafeterias, swimming pools and shrubby hills from where you can get the best views of the skies above. After you are done treating your eyes with beautiful scenes, head towards the Kanchenjunga waterfalls, a perennial waterfall and the most visited place in Pelling followed by the Khecheopalri Lake which is a sacred pilgrimage spot for the Hindus and the Buddhists. Post the sightseeing, move back to your hotel for lunch. Rest a bit and start again with your tour. Now it’s time to visit the Rabdentse Ruins and learn about the history of Sikkim. Rabdentse was once the state’s capital which was destroyed after the Napolese invasion in the 18th century.
Today what you see is just its wreckage. Up next are the two and the very last attractions of today, Pema Yangtse monastery and the Helipad Ground. The former one of the premier and the oldest built monasteries in Sikkim. Dating back to the year 1705 it is a place full of spiritual peace. Lastly, visit the Helipad ground which gives you the mind-boggling views of the Pelling, Kangchenjunga and nearby mountain ranges.
After completing a tired yet wonderful day of exploration reach your hotel, have your dinner, and go back to sleep. Rest as much as you can as the following day involves travelling from Pelling to Darjeeling.
The fifth day of your romantic jaunt involves nothing but moving from Pelling to the town of toy trains and tea garden, i.e. Darjeeling. have your breakfast, check your belongings properly, and finally leave for your very next destination. Darjeeling is almost 73 km away from Pelling. Hence it would take around 3-4 hours for you to reach here. While you are on your way get to know each other more, talk your heart out, look into each other’s eyes and make the full use of this drive. You won’t realise how these hours will pass and you’ll be at your hotel. Check into your rooms, and all you have to do is share a coffee or tea and relax. Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.
Today you’ll have a super early start. Leave for the Tiger Hills at 4:00 AM and witness the most spectacular sunrise of your life. As the sun peeps out from the Kanchenjunga ranges, it spreads its hues in the sky making it look more beautiful than ever. Do capture this beauty in your camera!
Moreover, looking at such a view with the love of your life is indeed a magical moment. While you are on your way back to your hotel, visit the Ghoom Monastery or the Ghum Monastery, famous for its 15 feet statue of Lord Buddha; and the Batasia Loop, a spiral train track with gardens and restaurants surrounding it. Reach your hotel, have your breakfast and continue the journey of exploration. Visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institue which was built to establish mountain climbing as a dignified sport in 1954, followed by the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) a breeding house of red panda and snow leopard. The list doesn’t end here; you are still left with four places to go. These include- Tenzing Rock which has its left side for the professional climber and right for the tourists and amateur climbers, Chitrey Tea Garden which has several tea shops selling tea made from the fresh leaves extracted from their backyards, and last but not the least the Japanese Style Built ancient Japanese Temple. Usually, the temple and the Peace Pagoda are considered a single destination for they stand too close to each other. This Peace Pagoda was built under the guidance of a Japanese Monk Nichidatsu Fujii. Both the architectural and historical structures are an embodiment of peace and tranquillity.
After a day full of massive sightseeing get back to your cosy hotel room. Laze around for some time and if you wish to visit the Mall road or the Chowrasta the doors are always open. Feed yourselves with delicious dinner and bid this day a goodbye with a pleasant sleep.
